I believe that blacksmithing has become sort of a lost art and we as a whole need to start recognizing it as a valuble talent and we need to recognize that people are not wanting to make stuff by hand and that needs to stop
The problem is, you need to have stuff made properly the first time and quickly. Nobody wants to go to a person, have them make something, and then hope it is made right. What should a blacksmith make that people would want?
